In the past, the Party organizations of Jiaoxi Village were feeble and lax. The committees of village and Party members had no prestige among people. Due to poor infrastructure and week industrial foundation, the village collective economy was only 1,272 yuan at that time.

 

Since the changes of committees and the arrival of resident working teams in February 2021, weak and slack grassroots Party organizations have been rectified and rural revitalization work has been carried out in grassroots Party building, industrial development, people’s livelihood improvement, environmental improvement and work safety.

 

With industrial revitalization and projects as top priorities, unprecedented momentum for development has been unleashed, enabling the village to achieve a transformation from “feeble and lax” to “strong and united”.

 

The abandoned and dilapidated houses that scattered disorderly in the village were once the “stumbling block” for villagers to improve their living environment.

 

After the team entered Jiaoxi Village, Abandoned House Reconstruction Council was founded to encourage villagers to consciously cooperate and actively participate in the demolition work.

 

So far, Jiaoxi Village has demolished more than 6,700 square meters of abandoned houses, ranking the forefront of all villages in the county and setting off a new round of environmental improvement.

 

The area of abandoned houses will be built into public facilities such as small parks and activity centers for the elderly, which will greatly improve the happiness index of villagers.

 

Relying on abundant land resources, Jiaoxi Village has cultivated flue-cured tobacco farmers and transferred over 400 mu (about 26.67 hectares) of land for flue-cured tobacco planting.

 

In addition, the village will double its efforts in the implementation of infrastructure construction by investing 6.778 million yuan to further improve water, electricity, road, communication and other infrastructure, upgrading the quality and expanding the existing planting area of navel orange and oil tea.

 

It strives to further develop and strengthen the village collective economic income with annual collective economic income exceeding 160,000 yuan in 2022 and 500,000 yuan in three years to ensure a sustained and steady increase of people’s income.

 

Villagers marvel at the great changes of the villages as well as the increasing number of rural enterprises. Now that villagers find nearby jobs and Party cadres explore new ways for development, Jiaoxi Village has taken on a new look.
